The makers behind Luna Mesa

Meet Ecoshi

Ecoshi is a natural dye and eco-print studio in India. With flowers, leaves and the care of skilled local artisans, they create the silk for our scrunchies and some of our bandanas.

Who they are

Ecoshi was founded by Ayushi Gupta, a fashion designer who saw first-hand how much waste the fashion industry creates. She taught herself the craft of eco-printing and set out to make beautiful pieces in a kinder way.

Today Ecoshi works with local artisans in Jaipur, who help with the dyeing, finishing and stitching. Every piece is handmade in small batches.

Proof that beauty and sustainability can go hand in hand.

How they work

  1. CollectTemple flowers, fallen leaves and kitchen scraps are gathered as colour sources.
  2. PrepareThe fabric is treated with natural mordants so the colours can bond.
  3. Print & dyeLeaves and petals are laid on the silk, rolled, bundled and steamed.
  4. FinishEach piece is washed, dried and sewn by hand – no plastic, no harsh chemicals.

In the workshop

From the dye pot to the sewing table, every Luna Mesa scrunchie passes through skilled hands. Here, our silk is cut, gathered and stitched – one piece at a time.
