About us

We met as flatmates

We met as flatmates in Utrecht. During one of our first evenings together, around the kitchen table, we talked about starting a brand using natural fabrics.

Years later, after different jobs, plans, relationships and travels, we decided to turn that idea into reality.

Our first natural dye workshop

We signed up for our very first natural dye workshop and fell in love with it instantly: laying petals on fabric, waiting, and discovering the colours that flowers leave behind.

Learning to sew

Next, we started sewing ourselves. Evenings on the living room floor, drawing and cutting out our own patterns, trips to the fabric market, testing materials and making our first pieces by hand – slowly learning how much skill and patience goes into every single product.

Our trip to India

Finally, we travelled to India to meet the makers behind Luna Mesa: Ecoshi in Jaipur and Akané in Mumbai. We saw the whole process up close.

Our products are made by women in India, using natural materials and traditional techniques. By working closely with our makers, we aim to create thoughtful products while supporting women and their independence.

Our heart is in India

Seeing where the flowers come from, and meeting the women whose craftsmanship turns them into colour, changed everything for us. It’s where the heart of Luna Mesa lies – and every piece we make carries a little of that story.
